How naive to believe the labor of the slave exists only outside the USA. Today's legal fiction, corporate personhood, replaces the legal fiction of personal property, for personal property yields liability hence responsibility. Keep in mind that the underlying principle for corporate personhood is to limit liability.
Yesterday's legal fiction, persons were property to be owned by other people, was replaced by corporate personhood. Are we getting this yet? You own nothing, the corporation owns it all, even your self. It is illegal to own a person, except by law of the government.
Who among you desire the benefit of slavery without having to pay its cost?
Slaves received
- free health care
- paid vacation between planting and harvest
- unemployment compensation
What benefit did slaves receive that we do not request of our government today? The option to work on our own time in order to purchase personal sovereignty. Should we not desire this?
Amendment 4, paragraph 4. of our Constitution reads:
The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law,
including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in
suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.
It means your money belongs to you only after this debt has been paid. Whether or not you receive any benefit and without ever having been asked to agree to the contract, you only get what remains after government is finished taking its share. This is the plight of the slave.
The plight of the master? Provide the slave with a large enough cage to keep the peace.
