SATIRE: Santorum: Being Female is a Mental Disorder

“It has been my experience that when dealing with females, you need to treat them as though they have a mental disorder… especially those that are constantly seeking equality in the workplace, the military, and in the home. Women need to know their place and need to know when it is okay for them to speak. They were put on this earth for two reasons, and two reasons alone: taking care of their husband, and giving birth to his children… that is all. Any woman who tells you otherwise is obviously touting the liberal agenda of equality, and they need to be told the truth of their purpose. It is a disorder that can be fixed, but not until they go through several years of therapy to understand that they need to be subservient.”

Believing in any man-made religion is a mental disorder.

Santorum believes in the "bible" preferring theocra(z)y over democracy.

Thus he is a mental patient.

Surprise. This coming from the world's leading moron. This guy wants to suck a cock so much that he's trying to do anything to make women look bad....so when he does do it he will feel good about himself because those women are just so stupid. He had to give blowjobs to all his male staffers and supporters to show thanks.

I often wonder when his supporters look in the mirror do they know what douchebags they are?

Slice the Onion.

Regardless of the veracity of the article, Santorum is this strange political animal who actually shows his stripes.

Grae remarked above:

The thing about great satire is that it could be true.

Santorum gave a speech at Ave Maria, and the following IS NOT SATIRE:

This is not a political war at all. This is not a cultural war. This is a spiritual war. And the Father of Lies has his sights on what you would think the Father of Lies would have his sights on: a good, decent, powerful, influential country – the United States of America. If you were Satan, who would you attack in this day and age? There is no one else to go after other than the United States and that has been the case now for almost two hundred years, once America’s preeminence was sown by our great Founding Fathers.

Great satirical piece.

Santorum may not have come right out and said these things, but he sure as heck seem to imply it often enough. Actions do speak louder than words, and judging by his actions, this satirical story reflect his thoughts to a T.

Some few hundred years back, during the Renascence(sp?) I believe it was, a "scientist" was trying to discover what made things born either male or female. He used for his study, birds. He noticed that depending upon temperature of incubation the egg hatched either a male or female bird.

Males incubated at a slightly higher temperature than the females. This led to the conclusion that females are naturally the result of a birth defect.

Bare with me now, I'm coming to the crazy....

Well the Pope (I think it was Pious but can't remember, sorry. It was one of the earliest Popes at any rate.) took this idea and ran with it. If women are the result of a birth defect, and god made "man" in his image, then naturally women aren't really humans at all!

Oh, I'm sure you get where all this is going. Now this little papal bull (@!$%#) was never rescinded, as most never are. Hey, the Pope is infallible and never makes mistakes, right?

The stupid certainly explains attitudes. But....

If women aren't really "human", doesn't that mean all males throughout the ages have been marrying and 'reproducing' with non-humans?
*snort*
Just sayin'.....

OMG, Santorum had it backwards. Heterosexual marriage leads to man on dog sex. The only marriage that should be allowed in same sex. That way the female species marries within their species and the male species marries within their species. Santorum is committing bestiality!!!!! /sarc.

It does do a disservice to political discourse. After all, there are still people who think Sarah Palin actually said "I can see Russia from my house!" (that was really Tina Fey of Saturday Night Live)

Deliberate misquotes have since become a bane of civil discourse, as politicians fall prey to them. For example, the infamous "Dean Scream" which eventually led to frontrunner Howard Dean dropping out of the race was rarely played in context. Rather it was remixed, set to music and otherwise ridiculed far beyond the minor outburst it was.

It's getting to be downright irresponsible journalism (not calling Tina Fey or Dave Chappelle journalists) to sabotage campaigns in this manner.

This is journalism at its best. If people don't grasp the difference between reality and disproportionate discourse, they should probably excuse themselves from the table of politics.

George Carlin (comedian) used to say "Take your guy with average intelligence, and then realize half the people are dumber than that!"

I look at the scoundrels in Washington D.C., people elected by the voters, and I can only come to one conclusion... American voters really can be dumber than dirt.

I mean, Bill Clinton womanizing. Who was surprised by that, really? W. Bush, a Texas guy giving no-bid contracts to Halliburton. What a shocker that was... NOT!

Then there's the Vice Presidents who have been nothing but idjuts, a tradition I think Bush41 started with Dan "Potatoe" Quayle. Then there's Al "The Tree" Gore, "Deadeye" Dick Cheney, and now Joe "The Plagiarist" Biden sitting one heartbeat away from the Presidency.

It's like some kind of warped job security guarantee. It says "if you impeach the President, then this lunatic Veep is going to be your punishment!"

That's why you don't hear a peep from Republicans about impeaching Obama. If you want to see Republicans reduced to tears, just watch 'em when Joe Biden walks into the room to the tune of "Hail To The Chief".

The voters choose these guys! My faith in the intelligence of the average American voter is all but gone.

BD, though I have no doubt that this quote is a pretty fair summery of Mr Santorum's personal views as far as I can tell he didn't really come out and say it, "For the record", :-).

According to "Snopes.com", this comes from a fictitious article posted on a satirical web, “Free Wood Post”, whose slogan is “News That’s Almost Reliable.”

Like all good satires this works because of the LARGE grain of truth embedded in its exaggeration.

Darn, I see others started pointing out that it was Satire before I got my thoughts posted. Lol

Once a month until the other thing happens then it's a mental disorder x 2. Hope my wife doesn't see this. :)

Funny always seems like the rethuglicans are the ones who are mentally unstable. It's indisputable that the evangelists(typically con) are raving lunatics, leaning more towards dangerous to society kind of nutzo.

Satire that undoubtedly mirrors what goes on in the minds of men like Frothy Vest.

That's disgusting! (¿?) Frothy Vest:

From Urban Dictionary:

The sometimes frothy, usually slimy, amalgam of lubricant, stray fecal matter, and ejaculate that leaks out of the receiving partner's anus after a session of anal intercourse. Named, by popular demand and usage, after legislator Rick Santorum because of his homophobic political statements.

Is this the first you've heard of that definition?

Sorry. I'm a woman. I can't purchase anything without my man's permission.

I made it because I'm the wife

But the bible specifically says the man (husband) should make the coffee. It says all over the place :

That's a bad interpretation. Coffee is not technically brewed, it's steeped. What IS brewed is beer. And man does make the beer (women muck it up by adding flavors).

Sounds good. But I am still going to get up early & turn up the heat & make the coffee, life is just simpler that way (not to mention safer). ;)

There's also Spaezi (sp?) which is a mixture of Fanta Orange and Beer. Of course, the Belgians are the worst by mixing raspberry syrup with beer.

Syrup? Now that's just sacrilegious. If you have to go there with the fruit thing, at least have the guts to use real fruit. Personally I like a slice of lime in some beers.

some conservative media have sued to have the right to lie so satire or not....

It really doesn't matter conservatives are voting for a rubber stamp. Rubber stamps don't require leadership qualities, vision, or even thinking they only need to inked up.

Although this article is supposed to be satire, I am willing to bet a lot of Liberals believe that this is what Santorum is really thinking, which brings me to my point: Liberalism is a Mental Disorder.

When did we start publishing the wet dreams of candidates?

I dream of waking up in a world where no one listens to guys like Santorum except those who like to laugh at the nut preaching on the street corner. Unfortunately, the followers of the nuts on the street corner are so delusional they actually believe this stuff.

After reading the article and some of the posts, I had to do a quick "Ask" on the internet. The thing is....although this may be "Onion-esc" in nature (satire), it sounds like something he'd say.

      That, in itself, is problematic!

Agreed, Shelby. Given what he has actually said, he appears to actually believe this bulls....nonsense, but even Santorum is smart enough to know that being completely honest about his prejudices would lose even most of the Republican women's vote...isn't he?

I understand the point of this quote being presented in this thread as basically being satire, because it took me a couple of seconds after reading that paragraph before my mind triggered a synapse and I figured that it must be a joke. But, dontcha think that Ricky's real life quotes are scary enough? Here's just a sample....

"One of the things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is I think the dangers of contraception in this country.... Many of the Christian faith have said, well, that's okay, contraception is okay. It's not okay. It's a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be."

"What happened in America so that mothers and fathers who leave their children in the care of someone else — or worse yet, home alone after school between three and six in the afternoon — find themselves more affirmed by society? Here, we can thank the influence of radical feminism."

"All the people who live in the West Bank are Israelis, they're not Palestinians. There is no 'Palestinian.' This is Israeli land."

"Would the potential attraction to Mormonism by simply having a Mormon in the White House threaten traditional Christianity by leading more Americans to a church that some Christians believe misleadingly calls itself Christian, is an active missionary church, and a dangerous cult?"

"I don't want to make black people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money."

"Is anyone saying same-sex couples can't love each other? I love my children. I love my friends, my brother. Heck, I even love my mother-in-law. Should we call these relationships marriage, too?"

"If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything. Does that undermine the fabric of our society? I would argue yes, it does. ... That's not to pick on homosexuality. It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be."

.....and many many many many more.
